OK, It is 3 rods and reels but I am calling it a collection as it is more than one. Left to right: 500B / ROD 555, 40B / ROD 450, 40B / ROD 400. I am having a blast with these combo and have captured most of the local species (perch, carp, eels, trout, flathead, whiting, red mullet, small snapper and salmon) Obviously I am missing a 7 foot and a 9 foot outfit to fill the gap between the ROD 450 and the ROD 555 . Using a snap swivel and and buying some pre-made rigs is working well on the smaller rods, easy to transport and change between rigs and in the kayak I can just snap a rig on when I anchor up otherwise it is a bit of a mess when I get there.

Perfect collection starters right there mate! I can highly recommend the ROD500 in the mix as well which would match perfectly with that 500B you've got. A 625B would then slot onto the ROD555 very nicely

Some great combos there Dave. Although they're looking very clean... You might need to go out and blood them again

They may not be worth eating but at least you're giving your outfit a work out. I've found carp make great fertilizer for the vegie patch.

They give complete use of your reels. In fact, when in the beach or rocks, we normally use one or, at max, two rods.

Mauricio, totally agree as I do the same now. Now I have the 650 up and running and working as it should,I can use two rods on the beach! (I think someone added parts to the 650 to try to make it a silent drag, but it didn't work.I removed the offending parts and now she's all good!)
I recently bought a kayak and discovering a whole new way to explore fishing spots. I considered a "kayak special" rod and reel, then asked myself,"Why cant I used the gear I already have?" So the 40a1 and 500c5 are used in the kayak and work a treat! Because the Alvey's are all but immune to salt and water, they are just the thing for this style of fishing, and more than up to the task for anything I'm likely to catch.
Gene, Love my 60c as well. The handle mod came about after talking to Glen Alvey about if it was possible to convert my ol' 60c to RR instead of buying a new reel.He when out of his way to make sure it could be done before I ordered the new handle part, great service!

The 500C5 its a real jocker in field. I have one, and is the preferential one when I get an invite and don't know exactly what coming ahead. I'd took a lot of fish with her.

I never knew Mauricio. Especially a challenge for one who lives in Brasil. In fact, wasn't easy to gather them. I panned out a lot in Ebay, but except two. Special thanks to you, with no doubt. And a Aussie friend.
