Nice video Gene and good to see someone using a classic Alvey cedar reel for a change. I still use my grandfather's 650A3 which he passed on to me before he died. I'm pretty sure he purchased it new in the early 50's, so the old girl's done a bit of fishing in her time.

torg: Just got a Alvey 50 C1 reel and I am trying to figure out which current Alvey rod is best suited for surf fishing with it. Apr 21, 2024 11:36:38 GMT 10

op: Good day friends, recently was introduced to Alvey side casting reels for surf fishing, they seem no longer on the market unfortunately, I ended purchasing used online two 655 C , non rotating reels , I asume they are for boat trolling fishing? Mar 19, 2024 10:30:32 GMT 10
