![]() Hi folks, I am new to this site so I hope I am in the correct area. What I would like to know is so info on this old Alvey I have. It is about 8.5" reel with the code : 925/A22/7 on the metal back plate. The spool is very nice polished smooth wood. Any info on this reel would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ray R.. |

Welcome to the forum Ray. Your boat reel was introduced in 1960. Has a laminated wood spool.

Thanks for that info, yes it will be kept along with some of my departed Dads old gear, I had his Sportex rod recently redone and this will go with it hanging up in my garage.
I want to put an info sheet up with it..

If you can, use them. That is what they were made for.

. Concepted for to be not pivoting, but very tought and can pull out big fishes from the bottom, if you intend to use it.
