A big thanks to Alvey reels ,I recently bought 2 fantastic reels a 650 b and a 650 BRR ripfighter at a great price. On one of them the sidecast mechanism was fairly stiff compared to the other.I sent alvey an email regarding a remedy and a couple of days later recieved a phone call from Bruce Alvey himself .He said he tried to email me but there was a problem ,so he took it upon himself to personally phone me and explained the fix which was to loosen the locking nut, back the screw off 1/4 a turn then retighten the nut. Fixed the prob. How awesome to get the boss of a company take the time to look after one of his customers, it was as if I was talking to a fishing mate. Now thats service at its best.A big thanks to Bruce and the team at Alvey, for not only providing fantastic products but also having having a family feel towards its customers.

I have had similar experiences as Treble. When you contact a company with an issue even though it is often a minor one and the boss ie Bruce or Glen take your call and personally sort out the issue with friendly patience and respect as they have done to me on several occasions ...wow in this day and age that is a company deserving of support. I have spoken to other staff at Alveys and always had a good experience. They are really supportive in a laid back respectful way. Once I received a reel I purchased from a dealer on EBay and whilst spooling it up I noticed a clicking sound. My other reel that was the same model was silent. I have serviced my Alvey reels for years and am confident in tweeting them but this had me beaten. I watched the Alvey You Tube maintenance videos and studied the break down drawings and could not get rid of the click click which by now was really getting to me. So I somewhat sheepishly rang Alvey and they put me onto Glen and we talked through the issue he said "put it up to the phone Baz and give it a spin" which I did and he said " That's not right send it back we'll take care of that" Alveys did just that and within a few days I received it back and it was running perfectly along with a hand written note from Glen. By the way I do not live in Queensland I live in SA and Alveys took care of everything. That is fantastic support and that is why fishers like me did all we could possibly do to save this iconic business. Long live Alvey. Happy Alvey fishing Baz.
